Green Line Trolley Crash in Boston
As you all probably know, last night a Green Line Trolley crashed into another train between Park Street and Government Center last night. As many as 50 people were injured and many required transport to the hospital. What is disturbing is that the trolley operator admitted to texting his girlfriend when the crash happened. You might remember the bad crash in Newton last year on May 28th where the operator in that crash was killed. While no mode of transportation is 100% safe, this incident could have been avoided.

2 Small Fires in Brookline Today

Brookline has had a pretty active day. On top of the usual car wrecks and medicals, the Jakes contended with 2 small fires. The first was at Hines Auto Body at 14 Sheafe Street in Chestnut Hill. Engine 6 reported smoke showing but knocked the fire down pretty quick. This fire came in just about noon.
The 2nd fire came in about 2:30pm at 227 Babcock Street which is a psychiatric facility. Apparently a patient started a small fire that was put out using an extinguisher. Lt. Kilgallon from Fire Prevention Division requested the detectives to respond. No injuries at either incident.
