Farewell to a Good Jake

The Brookline Fire Department lost one of it's own last Thursday night when Firefighter Bill McCarthy succumbed to a long battle with cancer. He had only been retired for 2 weeks. I had the honor of knowing Bill and my father worked with him for many years at Station 1. Not only was he a great Jake but more importantly a great man. Farewell Bill and rest in peace.

Brookline Pedstrian Accident

Just before 8am this morning I responded to the intersection of Gerry Road and Independence Drive for a pedestrian struck by a car. A 14 year old female was struck in the crosswalk while walking to school. Thankfully the child only sustained minor injuries and was taken to Children's Hospital in Boston
