Newton Firefighters made quick work of a house fire at 301 Lake Avenue in the Highlands about 7:20pm tonight. First companies off reported fire showing from the 2nd floor and made a quick interior attack upon receiving reports 2 people may be trapped inside. Fortunately the searches were negative. Fire was confined to the 2nd floor and attic. Not too cold tonight either which was good.
